After School Programs

Activities at our Clubhouse range from educational programs to playing different sports, doing arts and crafts and experiencing culture and sports around Chicago.

Academics

StudyPoint™

At Off The Street Club, education is key.  So we make the services of StudyPoint™ available for our students.  StudyPoint™ is a national leader in academic tutoring, test prep and admissions support.  They give our kids a better chance for success when they test and apply to schools.

Time to Excel

Learning shouldn’t stop when a child leaves the classroom.  Children need adults to look up to and learn from.  Our Time To Excel tutoring and McCormick Foundation funded public speaking programs encourage volunteers to read, learn, and bond with the kids in a safe place.  Time to Excel happens Wednesday evenings for kids grades 4 through 12.  Please contact us if you are interested in becoming a tutor.

After School Homework Help

Homework and study assistance on all subjects is available at the Clubhouse Monday through Friday during the school year.

Computer Learning Center

Our Computer Lab helps our kids learn basic computer skills and provides access to tools to help with their homework and learn how to use the internet for research projects and more.  The Computer Lab also provides kids some time to unwind after school and play fun and educational computer games.  We are grateful to the McCormick Foundation for donating the Computer Lab.

Athletics

Many kids rely on Off The Street Club for a safe place to play, run and exercise. They can join a jump rope team, play volleyball, do gymnastics, play flag football and basketball in a gym the kids call the “United Center West”.

Performing Arts

Our Performing Arts Center is where our talented kids shine.  They can learn to play musical instruments and compose their own music in our Jazz Masters Workshop, or join our renowned children’s choir program, part of Uniting Voices Chicago. Unitingvoiceschicago.org

Girls Center

“Where women teach girls how to be women”.  Our focus is on increasing self-esteem and helping our girls achieve personal goals such as a future of financial independence.   Programs include speakers, a real estate program, and role model interactions.

Early Childhood Center

The Club’s joyful Jack & Jill Room is a special place where our littlest members can grow, play, and learn in a safe environment.

Arts and Crafts

This is the spot for all our big and small artists.  We offer a broad assortment of arts and crafts projects, with a happy array of glue, popsicle sticks, paint, lanyards and of course strong doses of imagination.

Recreation

This is the place where you’ll find our own roller-skating rink. It’s also the spot for teen dances, our roller hockey tournament and other special events throughout the year.  We also have a game room filled with board games, ping pong, chess and checkers as well as video games to challenge our kids young minds.

Culinary Arts

The kids of Off The Street Club can spend one evening a week learning to create culinary masterpieces in our Chef Class.  Classes in both savory dishes and baking teach kids life skills.
